Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Orjan Ank (ranked 5114 p4p, 237 weight class) and Cody Cruz (ranked 4532 p4p, 230 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ank gets caught flat footed, as Cruz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Cruz gets to his feet - Ank follows without any prompting.
Ank scores with a head kick.

Cruz has managed to clinch.
Cruz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ank gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Cruz is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Cruz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cruz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ank.
Cruz throws a counter combo.
A head kick misses from Cruz.
Cruz has a takedown stuffed.
Orjan Ank has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cody Cruz.

Cruz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cruz lands in his opponent's guard.
Ank wants to stand but Cruz is controlling the position.
Cruz controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

It looks like Cruz might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Ank really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cruz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cruz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ank can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cruz controls the pace.
Cruz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Cruz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ank being controlled here, momentarily.
Cruz passes Ank's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ank is looking to control Cruz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ank avoid being mounted?

Cruz is trying for a kimura here. Ank looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Cruz wins by kimura!
