The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawsari tries for a takedown but Cole sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Abdullah Dawsari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dawsari takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Abdullah Dawsari has been cut.
Dawsari throws a half hearted mid kick.
Cole lands a really nice looking cross but Dawsari seems unphased.
Cole keeps the fight on the outside.
Cole throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dawsari throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dawsari tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cole swivels and escapes.
Cole drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dawsari sprawls and moves away.
Dawsari tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cole paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cole half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Dawsari or perhaps it was just good defense by Cole, which made it look bad.
Gavin Cole has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdullah Dawsari.

Dawsari working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cole doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cole manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
