Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gay Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Belnick Kicker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gay Al has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gay Al!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Belnick Kicker!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kicker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kicker showed some decent athleticism there.

Kicker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Al desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Kicker is trying to work for a kimura but Al is defending well.

Kicker seems to be looking for submissions.
Kicker stops Al from getting back to his feet.
Al trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kicker wants to pass to mount but Al is defending the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Al rushes Kicker and presses him up against the cage.
Kicker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Al just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kicker fails to pull guard.
Al slows down the pace here.
Kicker goes for a takedown in the clinch but Al prevents it.
Gay Al has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Belnick Kicker.
Al stops a takedown attempt from Kicker.
Kicker is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Al works on Kicker's body with a couple of short punches.
Kicker looks gassed!
Al controlling the action here for a moment.
A looping hook to the body misses from Al. Kicker does a little dance to reset his feet.

Al clinches up against the cage.
A body shot lands from Al.
Kicker tries to pull guard but Al holds him up against the cage and eventually Kicker drops back down to his feet.
Al manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kicker tries for a takedown. No joy.
Kicker prevents Al from breaking the clinch.
Kicker drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Al's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Belnick Kicker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Al misses with a wild combination.

Al has Kicker up against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Al creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Al wants to break the clinch but can't.
Al has Kicker pushed against the cage.
Kicker tries to pull guard but Al won't allow it.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Al.
Al lands a body punch.

Al escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Al closes the distance and clinches.
A short right from Al on the inside.

Al has hold of one of Kicker's legs. Kicker is fighting the takedown attempt but Al gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Kicker has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Al is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kicker.
Al controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Al in side control lands a decent elbow.
Al is staying tight to Kicker's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Al tries for a kimura but Kicker is defending well.

Al stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gay Al dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A combination from Al does no damage.

Kicker scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Al holds on to Kicker's head and controls the position momentarily.
Al wants to get back to his feet.
Al wants to control but Kicker postures up.

Kicker is trying to get an arm triangle but Al is defending well.

Kicker goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Al rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kicker's guard! Nice work there by Al!
Kicker is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Al content to stall in guard here.

Kicker working for a triangle but Al defends it easily.

Al decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Al darts in and clinches Kicker up against the cage.
Al swings wildly with an uppercut but Kicker uses good head movement to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Al throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kickers head.
Kicker drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Al gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Al tries to land knees in the clinch but Kicker avoids the damage to the body.

Al escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Al feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Al controlling from the top position.
Al seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kicker for as long as he can get away with.

Al decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kicker, up you get!

Al clinches.
Al wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A short right from Al on the inside.

Al pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kicker misses with a takedown

and Al counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Al.

Al turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Al is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kicker knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kicker is letting Al control him for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kicker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Al wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Al controls the position.
Kicker is trying to work for a sweep but Al has mounted him!

Al stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Kicker drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Al closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Al misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Al tries a knee to the head but Kicker blocks it.
A short body shot lands from Al as the two fighters clinch.
Kicker jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Al walks away with a smile on his face. Kicker gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Gay Al has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Belnick Kicker.
Kicker takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Al moves into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gay Al dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Al closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kicker to the mat! Kicker manages to get full guard.
Al preventing the sweep.
Kicker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Al manages to get himself to full guard.
Al looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kicker is one step ahead there.
Kicker throws a strike but Al rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Al controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kicker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kicker looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Al passes into half guard.
Al keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Al escapes and gets back to his feet.

Al closes the distance and clinches.
Al pushes Kicker back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Al pulls guard.

Kicker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Al is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Al has escaped and now he's on top!
Kicker has momentary wrist control but Al slips an elbow through the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Al stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Kicker shoots and misses

and Al counters with a single leg into guard. Kicker didn't expect that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Al stands and steps away. Kicker gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Al clinches up with Kicker and pushes him back against the cage.

Al's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Al closes the distance and clinches.
Al is struggling to control the position.

Al is trying to trip Kicker. He has hold of a leg but Kicker is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Al persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Al gets to his feet - Kicker follows without any prompting.

Al drives through and clinches with Kicker against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Al lands a nice shot to the body.
Kicker fails to pull guard.
A short right from Al on the inside.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Al breaks from the clinch.
Kicker misses with a takedown attempt

and Al counters with a takedown into side control.
Gay Al has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Belnick Kicker.
Al just content to control the position.
Al creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kicker sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Al will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kicker is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Al stands up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Al instigates a clinch.
Gay Al is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Al misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kicker.
Al gets underhooks to prevent Kicker's takedown attempt.
Al slowing the pace effectively.
Good body shot from Al.
Al stops a takedown attempt from Kicker.
Belnick Kicker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Al is leaning against Kicker and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Al taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Kicker tries to score a body lock takedown but Al shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Al lands a left hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gay Al showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Al has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
