Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dane Berry (ranked 24503 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayson Clause (ranked 4817 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clause shoots in but Berry avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Clause moves into range and clinches up with Berry.
Berry is trying to push Clause away but Clause has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Berry gets underhooks to prevent Clause's takedown attempt.
Clause tries to pull guard but Berry won't allow it.
Dane Berry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jayson Clause.
Berry wants to break free but Clause has control.
Clause tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Berry smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Berry counters with a two punch combo.

Clause with a lazy takedown attempt

and Berry counters by moving into the clinch.
Clause is pushing Berry up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Clause manages to break the clinch.
Jayson Clause seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Berry feints and as Clause raises his hands in defense, Berry changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Berry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Clause preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Berry's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Berry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Clause works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Berry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Clause preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Berry with a flurry of punches that miss.

Clause has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Berry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Clause pulls Berry in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Berry dives in and grabs Clause's left leg, looking for a takedown. Clause pushes down on Berry's head and hops out.
It seemed like Clause was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Clause throws the kick towards the body but Berry avoids it.

Clause darts in and clinches Berry up against the cage.
Berry is trying to force a seperation but Clause has the dominant position.

Clause breaks from the clinch.
Clause tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Berry swivels and escapes.
Berry half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Berry darts in looking for a takedown but Clause gets double underhooks and turns Berry into the cage.
Clause defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Berry.
Clause throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Berry's waist but Berry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Clause off to one side.

Clause takes a swing at Berry's ribcage but misses.
Clause will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Berry fails with the takedown.
Clause tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Berry swivels and escapes.
Berry went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Clause closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Berry looking to stall.
Berry has Clause pushed against the cage.
Berry stalling the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Clause pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Berry fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dane Berry will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Clause instigates a clinch.
Berry tries to circle away but Clause has him pinned against the cage.
Clause prevents Berry from breaking the clinch.

Berry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Berry shoots in for a takedown but Clause shows good takedown defense.
Berry doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Clause counters with a crisp one two that drops Berry! Clause thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Berry to his feet! Berry is in big trouble!

Berry is rocked!
Clause is trying hard to land a takedown here. Berry sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Oh Berry is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Clause fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Berry avoids it really well and circles away.
Clause plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Berry swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Berry face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
