The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
riformato closes the distance and clinches up with Alves, looking for a takedown. riformato pushes Alves against the cage but Alves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

riformato stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alves swivels though and keeps the full guard.
riformato thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

riformato has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Alves. Oh but riformato has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Alves goes limp - he's gone! riformato jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
