The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasmussen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Arantes counters with a body kick.
Rasmussen lands with a hook. Arantes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Rasmussen shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rasmussen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Arantes wants to get back to his feet.

Arantes wants to stand back up but Rasmussen manages to pass into side control.
Rasmussen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Arantes some visible discomfort.
Arantes takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Rasmussen stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Rasmussen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Arantes steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Arantes blocks a head kick by Rasmussen.
Arantes lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Rasmussen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Arantes.
Arantes unleashes a big counter combination but Rasmussen bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Rasmussen dives in and grabs Arantes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Arantes pushes down on Rasmussen's head and hops out.
