Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abusupyan Khalilov (ranked 3574 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bekbulat Kamchybekov (ranked 3859 p4p, 390 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abusupyan Khalilov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bekbulat Kamchybekov!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khalilov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Khalilov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kamchybekov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khalilov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kamchybekov is trying to control Khalilov's posture but Khalilov avoids it.
Kamchybekov manages to work his way to half guard, despite Khalilov's best efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Khalilov not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Kamchybekov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Khalilov pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kamchybekov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed right hand from Khalilov misses the target.
Kamchybekov circles away from the clinch attempt.

Kamchybekov manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Khalilov wants to control from the top but Kamchybekov keeps moving.

Khalilov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kamchybekov can't keep his opponent in guard - Khalilov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Khalilov is taking a breather. Kamchybekov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Khalilov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kamchybekov tries to hold on but Khalilov postures up.
Khalilov controlling the pace for now.
Khalilov trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Khalilov manages to capitalize on a mistake by Kamchybekov to take his back!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kamchybekov is in bad spot here.
Kamchybekov keeps trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Abusupyan Khalilov will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Kamchybekov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kamchybekov is fighting to break Khalilov's control of his arms but Khalilov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Khalilov wants to sweep here but Kamchybekov controlling him for the moment.

Khalilov has his foot on Kamchybekov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kamchybekov works his way back into a safe position though.

Khalilov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Khalilov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kamchybekov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kamchybekov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Khalilov walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kamchybekov checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

That was a close second round but I would say that Abusupyan Khalilov will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Kamchybekov tries to clinch there but Khalilov circles away.
Abusupyan Khalilov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Khalilov throws a right hand that Kamchybekov ducks under and follows up with a left that Kamchybekov also avoids with ease.
Kamchybekov fails with a takedown attempt.
Kamchybekov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Khalilov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Kamchybekov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Kamchybekov shoots in looking for a takedown but Khalilov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kamchybekov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kamchybekov doesn't manage to clinch there - Khalilov circles away.
Khalilov tries to counter with a takedown but Kamchybekov is quick to defend against it.
Khalilov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kamchybekov sprawls well. Kamchybekov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Khalilov gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abusupyan Khalilov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Khalilov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Khalilov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Khalilov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Khalilov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kamchybekov, who protects the arm well.
Kamchybekov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Khalilov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Abusupyan Khalilov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

You can see the frustration on Kamchybekov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kamchybekov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Khalilov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Khalilov looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kamchybekov is avoiding damage well.
Kamchybekov manages to get back to half guard.
Khalilov tries to pass to full mount but Kamchybekov defends it.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kamchybekov is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kamchybekov has closed the distance and engaged Khalilov in a clinch.

Kamchybekov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kamchybekov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Khalilov to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Khalilov passes easily into side control. Nice work.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Abusupyan Khalilov.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Khalilov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
