The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lei dives in and grabs Chartrand's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chartrand pushes down on Lei's head and hops out.
Chartrand looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Chartrand catches Lei with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Lei throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lei gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

It looks like Wu Lei has been cut.
Lei tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chartrand swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Chartrand counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lei fails with a takedown attempt.
Chartrand swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chartrand cracks Lei with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Lei looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Chartrand finish him?

Oh Lei is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chartrand slaps away a takedown attempt from Lei, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lei seems to have got his legs back now.
Lei is breathing heavily.
Lei gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Chartrand gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Dustin Chartrand decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
