Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Lion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bernie Sanders!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lion.

Lion gets tackled into the cage by Sanders. Sanders maintains the clinch.
Sanders lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Lion backwards.

Sanders lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Sanders stops Lion from getting back to his feet.
Sanders not doing much here.
Lion is trying to get back to full guard.
Sanders slips a nice elbow through Lion's hands, connecting with Lion's forehead.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanders working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Sanders throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Sanders is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lion defends it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sanders is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lion sees it coming and defends easily.
My spies in Star Studded Beef inform me that Sanders has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Lion is trying to stand back up but Sanders is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanders uses his free foot to push down on Lion's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lion.
Sanders with shots to the head and body - Lion looks very uncomfortable down there.
Lion is squirming around, avoiding Sanders's attempts to control the action.
Sanders looking to finish with strikes here!
BOOM! Sanders connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sanders postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lion looks a forlorn figure.
Sanders trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Sanders landing strikes from the mount.


Lion is rocked!
Sanders has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sanders with shots to the head and body - Lion looks very uncomfortable down there.
Oh Lion is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sanders connects with a bit shot that sees Lion covering up! More strikes from Sanders and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Sanders is our winner by TKO!
