Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Payne looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Alves drops back looking for a leg! Payne is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Payne manages to kick Alves off! Alves jumps back into Payne's guard.
Alves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Alves is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Payne had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Alves is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Payne Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Alves's back instead.

Payne doesn't have the hooks in and Alves manages to turn into his guard.
Payne working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alves doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alves manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Payne trying to hold on to Alves's head to control him but Alves postures up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Alves blocks the strikes from Payne.
Alves is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Payne has managed to free his arm - good work.
Payne wants to control but Alves is keeping busy.
Payne wants to control the action here but instead Alves manages to pass to full mount!
Alves has hold of Payne's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Payne manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Alves is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Payne can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Alves prevents Payne from getting the reversal.

Alves working for a submission but Payne is keeping him at bay.
Payne swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Alves wants to finish this one by submission but Payne is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Alves.
Payne defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Alves.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Alves has control of Payne's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Payne regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Payne is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Payne is looking to get to half guard.
Payne throws some wild strikes from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Payne is squirming around, avoiding Alves's attempts to control the action.
Payne has left one of his arms exposed and Alves doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Payne screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
