The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shorton has managed to clinch.
Shorton gets underhooks to prevent Boy's takedown attempt.
Shorton putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Boy in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Shorton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Shorton clinches with his opponent.

Shorton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Boy throws a hook but Shorton avoids it easily.
Shorton throws a nice looking combination but Boy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Boy has been working on his balance at Poseidon MMA, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Shorton.
Boy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shorton paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Boy shoots in for a takedown but Shorton shows good takedown defense.

As Shorton backs away, Boy returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Boy tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shorton smiles and moves away.
Shorton throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Boy tries to pull guard but Shorton holds him up against the cage and eventually Boy drops back down to his feet.

Boy shoots in but Shorton avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Boy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Boy showed some decent athleticism there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Boy in particular looking to stall.

Stim Shorton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Boy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shorton uses from the top position.

Shorton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Shorton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Boy is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Good leg kick by Shorton there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Boy missing with a left hand there. Shorton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Boy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shorton is fending him off so far but Boy persists. Nope, Shorton circles away and we're back to standing.
Shorton tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
