Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stewart McCaffrey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sufyan Amin!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCaffrey darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Amin throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Amin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Amin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Amin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Amin can do anything to dispel that myth.

McCaffrey lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Amin misses with some strikes from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCaffrey scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Amin missing with punches from the bottom.
Amin is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCaffrey not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
McCaffrey drops an elbow to the side of Amin's head.
McCaffrey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Amin's head.
McCaffrey blocks the strikes from Amin.
Amin missing with punches from the bottom.
Amin misses with some strikes from the bottom.
McCaffrey looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Amin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Amin flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amin has hold of McCaffrey's hands but McCaffrey slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McCaffrey seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.


Amin is rocked!

Amin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McCaffrey pulls his head out easily.

Amin is still in real trouble! Can McCaffrey finish him?
McCaffrey thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Amin seems to have recovered his senses.
Amin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McCaffrey's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McCaffrey's back!

McCaffrey rolls, trying to escape but Amin keeps control of the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McCaffrey is working hard here to advance position.
McCaffrey is trying to remain composed but Amin is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCaffrey is really stuck here.
Amin lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Amin.
Amin lands strikes to the head.
McCaffrey covers up after that shot from Amin.
McCaffrey tries to break free.
Amin connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for McCaffrey to escape the position.
You can see the frustration on McCaffrey's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Amin lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

McCaffrey is rocked!
Amin controlling well, preventing McCaffrey from escaping the position.
Oh McCaffrey is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
McCaffrey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee is taking a good look at McCaffrey as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Amin!
A helpless look comes across McCaffrey 's face. He knows he's trapped as Amin lands a series of unanswered strikes. The ref steps in to stop the fight and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sufyan Amin!
An out of breath Sufyan Amin thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
