Boyd has chosen Evil villain as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyer avoids the head kick by Boyd.
Meyer quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Boyd throws a leg kick but Meyer sees it coming and moves out of range.
As Boyd looks to move away, Meyer throws a big counter combo but Boyd just gets out of the way.
Boyd throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Boyd throws a wild body kick that Meyer sees coming a mile off.
Meyer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Boyd is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Boyd has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Meyer is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Meyer tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Boyd counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Boyd lands with a nice body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boyd lands a big head kick that sends Meyer tumbling to the mat! Boyd takes a step backwards and waves Meyer back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Esteban Meyer has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Meyer takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Meyer moves out of range of the body kick from Boyd.

Boyd and Meyer are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Boyd throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Meyer into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Boyd knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

A very excited looking John Boyd rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
