Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wulfgar Beornegar (ranked 2775 p4p, 273 weight class) and Sting Fire (ranked 3546 p4p, 324 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Sting Fire enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wulfgar Beornegar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sting Fire!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beornegar throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fire tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Beornegar is in Fire's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fire is controlling Beornegar's posture.
Beornegar postures up.
Beornegar working some strikes from top position.
Beornegar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Fire has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Fire is trying to control the position but Beornegar postures up.

Beornegar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fire keeping moving, preventing Beornegar from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beornegar postures up.
Fire avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Fire really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beornegar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fire controlling the position.
Fire controls Beornegar momentarily but Beornegar frees himself.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Beornegar prevents Fire from getting back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Beornegar rushes Fire and presses him up against the cage.
Beornegar lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Sting Fire has been cut.
Beornegar wants to take the fight to the mat but Fire manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Fire lands an elbow just above Beornegar 's eye.
Beornegar has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fire avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Fire gets through Beornegar's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
A knee to the head by Fire.
Fire working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Beornegar tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wulfgar Beornegar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fire gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Beornegar.

Beornegar gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Fire pushes Beornegar off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Beornegar has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Beornegar ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fight stays on the outside here - Beornegar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A nice side step and Fire releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Beornegar lands a nice hook to Fire's body. Fire takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Beornegar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Fire counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Wulfgar Beornegar has been cut.

enabling Fire to counter with a crisp jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Beornegar throws the left hand but Fire avoids the punch easily.
Fire wants to counter the offense by Beornegar and move into the clinch position.
Beornegar goes for a double leg but Fire avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fire continues to drive forward.
Beornegar fails to land the takedown.
Beornegar misses with a takedown attempt
and Fire counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Beornegar is breathing heavily.

and Fire counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Fire lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Fire lands a shoulder strike.
Fire landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Beornegar takes a shot to the head.
Fire lands a nice knee to the body.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fire lands a right hand.
Fire lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Fire connects with a knee to the head.
Fire lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fire lands a hook that snaps the head of Beornegar backwards.
Fire lands a left hand that snaps the head of Beornegar backwards.
Fire is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Fire has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Beornegar seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Fire can turn it around.
Fire works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Fire with a knee to the head.

Fire drops Beornegar with a big knee straight up the middle! Beornegar is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

and Fire counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Oh Beornegar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sting Fire is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Beornegar moves to clinch but Fire breaks away
and Fire counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sting Fire!
Sting Fire seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
