PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Blake Westcutt (ranked 872 p4p, 113 weight class) and Abraham Alcantara (ranked 1514 p4p, 183 weight class). Westcutt comes into the arena with Nick Nolan - Life of Sin blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Abraham Alcantara!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alcantara gets tackled into the cage by Westcutt. Westcutt maintains the clinch.

Westcutt manages to pull guard.

Westcutt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alcantara gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alcantara wants to control from the top but Westcutt keeps moving.

Westcutt isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Alcantara stacks Westcutt on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Alcantara!
Alcantara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Westcutt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Westcutt struggling a bit here.
Westcutt manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Westcutt seems to be looking for submissions.
Alcantara is not content to let Westcutt control the position.

Westcutt is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Westcutt is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Westcutt is stalling here. Alcantara is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Westcutt seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Alcantara has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Westcutt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alcantara wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Alcantara is looking to take a break and control but Westcutt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Alcantara wants to stand but Westcutt has his arm trapped.
Westcutt regains half guard.
Alcantara throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Westcutt is trying to get back to full guard.
Westcutt makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Westcutt.
Alcantara trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Alcantara controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Westcutt pushes a forearm under Alcantara's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Alcantara is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
