The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freysisson throws a lazy uppercut
and Shufutinskiy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Abel Freysisson has been cut.

Freysisson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Freysisson lands a right hand.
Freysisson misses with a body punch.
Freysisson misses with a punch to the body.
Freysisson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Shufutinskiy tries to land knees in the clinch but Freysisson avoids the damage to the body.
Shufutinskiy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Freysisson throws a punch but it's blocked by Shufutinskiy.

Shufutinskiy breaks from the clinch.

enabling Shufutinskiy to counter with a crisp jab.
Freysisson throws out a loose jab but Shufutinskiy uses good head movement to avoid it.

Freysisson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Freysisson scores with a shoulder strike.
Shufutinskiy can't find room to land a body shot as Freysisson controls the action.
Freysisson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shufutinskiy backwards.
Freysisson gets through Shufutinskiy's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Freysisson tries to throw a body punch but Shufutinskiy avoids it by throwing Freysisson back against the cage.

Shufutinskiy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shufutinskiy fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Shufutinskiy looks to land a left hand but Freysisson moved out of range nicely.
Freysisson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Shufutinskiy counters with a stiff right hand.

Freysisson is rocked!

That has opened up Abel Freysisson's cut even more.
Shufutinskiy finds Freysisson's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Freysisson flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Shufutinskiy lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Freysisson will be OK.
