PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julio Dean (ranked 5711 p4p, 471 weight class) and Asiong Salonga (ranked 24701 p4p, 584 weight class). Dean comes to the cage accompanied by Zack Fox- Jesus Is The One (I Got Depression). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dean.
Asiong Salonga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Salonga throws a looping overhand right but Dean ducks down to avoid it.
Dean's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Salonga connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dean scrambles back to his feet.
Dean takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Dean shoots in but Salonga avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Salonga looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The fighters circling - Salonga throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Salonga lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dean circles away quickly and effectively.
Salonga connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dean momentarily.

and Salonga counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Salonga, as that shot connected.

Asiong Salonga is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Salonga counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Dean is breathing heavily.
Salonga looks to land a combination. Dean sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Dean takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Salonga connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Salonga tests Dean's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Salonga connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Oh Dean is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A decent looking cross lands there for Salonga.
Dean shoots in looking for a takedown. Salonga tries to sprawl out of it but Dean keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Salonga manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice side step and Salonga releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Dean seems to have got his legs back now.
Salonga sizes up Dean with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A nice combination there by Salonga.

Asiong Salonga dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dean goes for a double leg but Salonga avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Salonga continues to drive forward.

Dean went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Dean has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Dean fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Salonga sprawls well initially but Dean persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Salonga is trying to stand up here but Dean is controlling him well.

Dean maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Salonga could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Dean has cracked it and Salonga is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Dean!
