The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch but Mccray swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Nelson, right into the meat.
Nelson throws a right and a left that Mccray avoids nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nelson is defended easily by Mccray.
Nelson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Alonso Mccray has been cut.

Mccray moves into the clinch.
Mccray is trying to pull guard but Nelson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Mccray jumps guard but Nelson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Crunch! Nelson slams his shin into Mccray's torso.
Nelson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mccray.
Mccray thinks about countering with a head kick.
Nelson tries a low kick but Mccray avoids it.
Nelson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

No joy there for Nelson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mccray moves into range and clinches up with Nelson.

Mccray seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Both fighters circling a little - Nelson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch but Mccray swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

It looked like Mccray wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Nelson shoots in and bounces Mccray off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mccray holds on and takes a little breather.
Nelson won't allow Mccray to sweep him here.

Nelson lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Mccray crumples to the floor! Nelson milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
