PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Logan Cullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Par Dough (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Logan Cullen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Par Dough!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cullen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dough.

Cullen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cullen lands in his opponent's guard.
Cullen trying to control the position from guard on top but Dough is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dough escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cullen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cullen is stalling in the full guard.
Dough throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Cullen wants to get up but he can't break Dough's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dough is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nice sprawl there from Dough as Cullen shoots in.

Cullen is trying to control. Dough wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Cullen is taking a breather. Dough says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cullen ducks under a wild hook from Dough.
Dough looks to land a right hand but Cullen moved out of range.
Dough throws a looping overhand right but Cullen ducks down to avoid it.
Dough shoots and misses

and Cullen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dough!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dough really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Dough is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Dough holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Cullen tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Cullen misses with a head shot.
Dough is desperately trying to improve his position but Cullen has a good base and remains in mount.

Dough regains half guard.
Dough has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dough is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cullen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cullen's back!
Even with his hooks in, Dough manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Cullen avoids the strikes from Dough.
I really don't envy Cullen right now.
Cullen is covering up but some of the strikes from Dough are getting through and doing damage.
Dough has the hooks in. Cullen is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Cullen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dough on the ground.
Dough lands punches and elbows.
Dough throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.

Dough looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Cullen taps!
