The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deleon wants to clinch.
Charlie Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter thows a leg kick but Deleon checks it
and Deleon counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Carter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Carter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Carter darts in and clinches Deleon up against the cage.
Deleon is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Carter has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Deleon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Deleon is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Carter gets his way!
I really don't envy Deleon right now.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Carter creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Charlie Carter seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
