Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hershel Mccullough (ranked 23562 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kedson Linhares (ranked 4645 p4p, 490 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hershel Mccullough!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kedson Linhares!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Linhares throws a head kick but Mccullough moves out of range.

Linhares drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mccullough is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Linhares is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mccullough is working an open guard so Linhares takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Linhares shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Mccullough wants to sweep here but Linhares controlling him for the moment.
Linhares postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Linhares forces his way into half guard.
Mccullough has hold of Linhares's hands but Linhares slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mccullough manages to get to full guard.
Linhares controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Linhares tries to free his leg and advance position but Mccullough is retaining full guard.
Linhares pushes down on Mccullough's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Linhares is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mccullough sees it coming and defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Linhares prevents Mccullough from improving his position.
Linhares slows the pace down in half guard.
It looks like Linhares might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Linhares passes to full mount!
Linhares sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Linhares's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Mccullough tries to improve his position but instead Linhares has taken his back!
Linhares is trying to stick to Mccullough's back but Mccullough is turning into Linhares. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Linhares's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mccullough.

Linhares is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mccullough defends well.
Linhares utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Linhares pulls Mccullough in close to prevent any damage.
Mccullough missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Linhares controlling Mccullough's posture.
Mccullough might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mccullough throwing strikes from guard but Linhares blocks nicely.
Linhares is trying to control the position but Mccullough postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mccullough cracks Linhares with a solid left hand.
Linhares working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mccullough.
Linhares looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mccullough is one step ahead there.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Linhares scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Linhares closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Linhares is working for a submission of some sort.
Ground and pound from Linhares.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mccullough wants to sweep but Linhares has passed to side control!
Kedson Linhares has got the better of the ground game so far.

Linhares working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

A control attempt from Mccullough but he's now mounted!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mccullough is looking to get to half guard.
Linhares trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Linhares with good strikes from the mount here!
Mccullough tries to reverse the position but Linhares maintains control.
Mccullough really is a fat lump.

Linhares lands a nice shot to the head.
Mccullough wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Mccullough is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Linhares throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Mccullough!
Linhares has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mccullough's body.

Linhares looking for the choke but no joy.
Linhares has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Mccullough.

Mccullough tries to escape but Linhares has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Mccullough defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Linhares's arms.

Linhares is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mccullough has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Linhares controls the position.

Linhares is persistently looking for the submission but Mccullough is defending it well.

Linhares controls the action.
Linhares keeps control of the position as Mccullough tries to break free.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Linhares is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Mccullough trying to control the hands but Linhares won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kedson Linhares showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Linhares closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Linhares jumps into guard, dragging Mccullough to the mat.
Mccullough is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mccullough stopping the sweep attempt from Linhares.
Mccullough wants to control from the top but Linhares keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Linhares tries to strike from the bottom.
Linhares keeping moving, preventing Mccullough from controlling successfully.
Linhares is pulling down on Mccullough's head. It's preventing any offense from Mccullough, at least for the moment.

Mccullough scoring with some ground and pound.
Linhares working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mccullough.
Mccullough trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Mccullough got a little sloppy there for a moment and Linhares has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mccullough has managed to get both his arms back between Linhares's legs - danger averted.
Mccullough with a flurry of punches that miss.
Mccullough throws an elbow that misses. Linhares uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mccullough's guard. Nice move by Linhares!

Linhares is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Linhares is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Linhares wants to stand up but Mccullough is controlling the position.
Mccullough is looking for a sweep. Linhares is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mccullough wants to improve his position but Linhares is controlling well.
Mccullough taking some punishment here, with Linhares in his half guard.

Linhares decides to return to a standing position.
Mccullough slips a jab and a cross from Linhares.

Linhares shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Linhares showed some decent athleticism there.

Mccullough has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Linhares is on him like a limpet, forcing Mccullough back against the cage.

Linhares pulls guard successfully.
Mccullough trying to control the position from guard on top but Linhares is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mccullough is working Linhares over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mccullough stands up out of Linhares's guard for a moment - Linhares manages to land a nice upkick.
Linhares manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mccullough manages to get himself to full guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Linhares is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Linhares wants to pass the guard but Mccullough is keeping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mccullough trying to keep a closed guard but Linhares is proving a slippery customer.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kedson Linhares comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Linhares has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
