The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrandles stuffs the takedown.
McGrandles lands a jab to Olson's midsection.

Olson is rocked!
Olson tries for a takedown but McGrandles sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Olson avoids the attempt from McGrandles to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Olson has control of McGrandles's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and McGrandles regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Denis Olson will probably get the nod.

Olson sneaks out the side door and pushes McGrandles away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As McGrandles tries to get set, Olson tries to push him back and clinch up but McGrandles manages to avoid the attempt.
