Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, James Miller!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Trevor Rex!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rex throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Rex scores with a takedown into Miller's guard.

Rex thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Miller wants to sweep here but Rex controlling him for the moment.
Miller bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rex's guard.
Miller will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Miller has gone for a leg lock! Rex slips out almost immediately though and dives into Miller's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rex lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miller circles away quickly and effectively.
Miller fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rex scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Rex cracks Miller with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Rex throws a right hand that Miller ducks under and follows up with a left that Miller also avoids with ease.

Rex closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rex lands in his opponent's guard.
Miller is breathing heavily.
Rex distracts Miller with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Miller throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Miller not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Miller manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rex is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Rex is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Rex tries to control Miller's body but Miller pushes him off. Rex squirms to his side and now Miller has his back!
Rex prevents Miller from getting a body triangle.

Miller looking for the choke but no joy.
Miller is trying to stick to Rex's back but Rex is turning into Miller. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Miller's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rex.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Rex thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Miller is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Rex has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Miller is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Rex yanks on the arm and Miller is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Rex.
