PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bozo Susec (ranked 5107 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Boaler (ranked 4312 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom Boaler told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Susec tries to sprawl but Boaler drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Susec makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Susec shoots in for a double leg but Boaler sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Boaler should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Susec shoots and misses

and Boaler counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boaler postures up.
Boaler forces his way into half guard.
Boaler stalling.
Boaler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Susec knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Susec flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Boaler passes to side control.
Susec stops Boaler from passing to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Susec gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Boaler looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Susec can't escape the position.
Boaler seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Susec is holding on tight.
Boaler moves to take his opponent's back.
I really don't envy Susec right now.
Susec is breathing heavily.

Boaler has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Susec is defending well but eventually Boaler manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Susec has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
