PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Negro Negao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elan Tedroni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Negao comes into the arena with MC Fagner Pinheiro - Gata Da Favela blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negao circles away from the clinch attempt.
Negao really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Negao clinches with his opponent.

Negao breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Tedroni lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Tedroni is working for a submission of some sort.
Negao knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tedroni on the ground.
Negao is looking to improve his position.
Negao pushes Tedroni off looking to stand but Tedroni dives back in and keeps control.
Tedroni lands strikes from half guard.
Negao gets full guard.
Tedroni would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Negao is looking for a triangle but Tedroni pushes his legs off easily.

Tedroni postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Negao is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tedroni, into his guard.

Negao wants to stand but Tedroni is controlling his posture from full guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Negao's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Negao stands and steps away. Tedroni gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Negao tries a head kick but it misses.
Negao tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Tedroni makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Tedroni lands a nice leg kick that just misses Negao's sensitive parts.
Negao is breathing heavily.
Negao doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tedroni counters with a leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Negao fails with an attempt to clinch.

Tedroni scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Tedroni has hold of Negao's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Negao seems comfortable defending it but Tedroni has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Negao is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Negao is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Tedroni couldn't care less - he's delighted!
