Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Douglas (ranked 535 p4p, 67 weight class) and Barnabas Ungar (ranked 1809 p4p, 212 weight class). Douglas comes to the cage accompanied by Go For a Soda by Kim Mitchell. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Barnabas Ungar was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 28 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Douglas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barnabas Ungar!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas moves out of range of the strikes.
Ungar misses with a double jab
and Douglas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ungar throws a lazy uppercut
and Douglas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ungar displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Douglas throws out the jab.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Douglas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ungar - the referee stops the clock and Douglas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ungar. Douglas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Ungar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Douglas pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ungar is out of range and Douglas settles back down.
And Ungar responds with a good body kick, but Douglas manages to step out the way in time.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ungar lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Douglas has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Douglas and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

We've been hearing good reports from Douglas's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
