The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jantan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Wallace connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Joseph Jantan has been cut.
Jantan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wallace.
We've been hearing reports that Jantan has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Jantan looks to land a left hand but Wallace moved out of range nicely.
Wallace swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Jantan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wallace tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jantan is in Wallace's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wallace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jantan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jantan scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wallace is not content to let Jantan control the position.

Jantan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jantan lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Wallace quite badly. Wallace pulls Jantan in close trying to recover. Jantan postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Wallace on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Wallace doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
