Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nieves misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nieves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

God drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
God throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nieves works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
God not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

God shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nieves napping and manages to drive through into side control!
God is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
God has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

God remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That was a close round but I would say that Dante Nieves will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

God lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

It looks like Dante Nieves has been cut.
Nieves shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. God defends it nicely.
