Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dillon Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rudy Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rudy Sato is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rudy Sato!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant cracks Sato with a big right hand and Sato goes down!


Sato is rocked!


It looks like Rudy Sato has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sato is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sato is still in real trouble! Can Grant finish him?

Sato has an active guard here but Grant has managed to pass into half guard.
Grant is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Sato seems to have recovered his senses.

Sato is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Grant pulls his head out easily.
Sato is looking for a sweep. Grant is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Grant gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Grant lands a nice hook to Sato's body. Sato takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sato looks gassed!
Grant scores with a jab to the jaw.


That has opened up Rudy Sato's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grant jabs at Sato's body.
Grant waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Sato. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Sato to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Grant stopping the sweep attempt from Sato.
Sato should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Grant tries to stand but Sato is controlling from the bottom.
Grant seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Grant wanted to stand there but Sato had control of the position.

Sato is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sato working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Grant doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Grant manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sato avoids the body shot from Grant.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Grant lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


The cut above Rudy Sato's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Sato takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sato slips a jab and a cross from Grant.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Sato keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Grant misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Sato shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sato was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Grant wants to control but Sato is having none of it.

Sato is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Grant has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Grant!

Sato looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sato is breathing heavily.

Grant would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Grant is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sato can do to turn this around?

Sato had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Grant is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sato Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Grant's back instead.
Grant tries to escape but Sato has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Grant tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Grant really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Sato looking to control but Grant is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Grant working to try and regain half guard.

Sato misses with a head shot.
Grant is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Sato has hold of Grant's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Grant manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Grant is trying to escape the mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Grant tries to hold on but Sato postures up.
Sato unloads with some shots from mount but Grant bucks and avoids them well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Poor strikes thrown by Sato there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Rudy Sato will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Grant scores with a nice head shot.
Sato looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Grant is fending him off so far but Sato persists. Nope, Grant circles away and we're back to standing.
Grant throws a right and a left that Sato avoids nicely.

Sato drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grant is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Grant wants to get back to his feet but Sato is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Grant pulls Sato in close to his closed guard and prevents Sato from doing any damage or advancing position.
Sato stops Grant from standing up.
Sato in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sato looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sato won't allow Grant to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sato fails with the takedown.
Grant is looking to wear down Sato with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Grant stuffs the takedown attempt from Sato. Sato gets slowly back to his feet.
Dillon Grant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rudy Sato.
Sato shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Grant throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sato.
Grant scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sato doesn't seem bothered though.
Sato avoids the body shot from Grant.
Grant just misses with a punch to the body.
Grant drops Sato with a beautiful combination! Sato stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Grant is looking for the KO!


Sato is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rudy Sato's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dillon Grant!
