Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronald Escamosinho!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Escamosinho shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Castaneda's guard.
Castaneda wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Castaneda is on top in guard.

Escamosinho looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Castaneda tries to stand but Escamosinho is controlling from the bottom.

Escamosinho is looking for a triangle but Castaneda pushes his legs off easily.

Castaneda not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Castaneda distracts Escamosinho with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Castaneda has Escamosinho pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Castaneda pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Escamosinho tumbling to the mat - Castaneda dives into Escamosinho's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Castaneda stays in close to Escamosinho's body and controls the position.
Castaneda has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Escamosinho is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Castaneda seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Escamosinho has Castaneda pulled in close to control his posture.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Castaneda controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That was a close second round but I would say that Darrick Castaneda will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Escamosinho closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Escamosinho misses with a head kick.
Darrick Castaneda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Escamosinho bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Castaneda struggling a bit here.
Castaneda tries to improve position but can't.
Castaneda is trying to control Escamosinho's posture but Escamosinho avoids it.
Castaneda sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Escamosinho really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Castaneda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Escamosinho is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Castaneda regains full guard. Nicely done.

Escamosinho is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Escamosinho is looking to work some ground and pound but Castaneda has wrist control.

Castaneda seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Castaneda is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Castaneda bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Escamosinho's guard.

Castaneda seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Escamosinho for as long as he can get away with.

Castaneda postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Castaneda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Escamosinho doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Escamosinho manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

I think Escamosinho has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
