Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zuillnic Canto (ranked 2425 p4p, 0 weight class) and Markie Perez (ranked 2231 p4p, 0 weight class). Perez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Will You Ever Learn by Typecast. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canto darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Canto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Perez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Canto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Perez looking for a guillotine here but Canto defends easily.
Canto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Canto passes easily into side control. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Canto working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Perez is looking to reverse the position.

Perez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Canto off and has taken his back!
Canto trying to control but not successfully.
You can see the frustration on Canto's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Canto defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Perez's arms.
Perez is hanging on to Canto's back as he tries to escape.
Perez doesn't have the hooks in and Canto manages to turn into his guard.

Perez looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Canto passes into half guard.
Canto looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Canto tries to pass to full mount but Perez defends it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Canto's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Canto uses his free foot to push down on Perez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Perez.
Perez stops Canto from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

A very excited looking Zuillnic Canto rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
