Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sava Savov (ranked 4913 p4p, 231 weight class) and Cory Chase (ranked 6292 p4p, 256 weight class). Sava Savov has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sava Savov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cory Chase!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savov lands a front kick.
Savov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Chase fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Savov pushes Chase up against the cage in a clinch.
Savov crunches a lovely knee into Chase's ribcage.
Savov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Chase has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Savov regains guard immediately.
Chase stops Savov from standing up.

Savov uses the cage to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Savov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Savov has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Savov has Chase up against the cage in a clinch.

Savov has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Chase clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Savov looking to break Chase's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Chase remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Savov will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Savov is persistently looking for the submission but Chase is defending it well.

Savov is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Chase has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Savov wants to control but Chase is keeping busy.

Savov lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Chase is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Chase rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Savov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chase on the ground.
Chase moves into full guard.
Savov tries to stand but Chase is controlling from the bottom.
Savov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Savov lands a nice leg kick that just misses Chase's sensitive parts.
Sava Savov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Chase closes the distance and clinches up with Savov, looking for a takedown. Chase pushes Savov against the cage but Savov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chase.
Sava Savov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cory Chase.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Savov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Savov lands in his opponent's guard.

Chase is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Savov defends well.
Savov tries to stand but Chase is controlling from the bottom.
Savov connects with a couple of short punches.
Savov wants to get up but he can't break Chase's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Chase is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Savov defends well.

Savov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Chase tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Savov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Savov decides to stand back up. Savov steps back and let's Chase get back to his feet.

Savov takes the fight into the clinch.
Savov lands a nice elbow.


It looks like Cory Chase has been cut.

Savov tries to work over Chase's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Chase wants a takedown.
Savov is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Savov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Savov manages to end up in side control.
Savov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Chase to see if he's OK.

Chase is rocked!
Savov lands a strong strike to the head of Chase. That's dazed him! Savov looking to finish here. Chase is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Savov lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Our winner, Sava Savov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
