PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julio Dean (ranked 5485 p4p, 466 weight class) and Jack Rackham (ranked 4852 p4p, 481 weight class). Dean comes into the arena with Zack Fox- Jesus Is The One (I Got Depression) blaring out of the sound system. Rackham comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Promises- The Cranberries kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Julio Dean could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jack Rackham's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rackham throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Dean holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dean dodges an elbow strike from Rackham.
Dean blocks an uppercut.

Dean ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dean no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Dean tries to land a sweep but no joy.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dean is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dean stands and throws Rackham's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Dean wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rackham, who protects the arm well.

Rackham is not content to let Dean control the position.
Dean remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dean looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Rackham cracks Dean with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Dean looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Rackham finish him?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rackham steps in with a hook that catches Dean right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Rackham follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Dean looks absolutely devastated.
