PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jagga Obidisson (ranked 3865 p4p, 326 weight class) and Bilal Vinsson (ranked 4972 p4p, 377 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jagga Obidisson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bilal Vinsson!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vinsson moves into the clinch successfully.

Vinsson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Vinsson manages to end up in side control.
Obidisson regains half guard.
Vinsson controlling the pace.

Vinsson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Obidisson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vinsson is keen to just control but Obidisson is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee warns Obidisson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Vinsson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Obidisson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Obidisson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Vinsson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Obidisson looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Vinsson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bilal Vinsson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Vinsson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vinsson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Obidisson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vinsson can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jagga Obidisson will probably get the nod.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Vinsson has Obidisson up against the cage in a clinch.

Obidisson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Vinsson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Obidisson to the mat. Obidisson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Obidisson uses the cage to get back to his feet.
