Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Archie Clay (ranked 4356 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koah Nine (ranked 7280 p4p, 0 weight class). Koah Nine is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Archie Clay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Koah Nine!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nine tries to clinch but Clay moves out of range.
Clay dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nine. That did some damage!
Nine misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nine ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Nine keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nine now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Clay keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Clay throws a nice inside leg kick.
Clay lands a nice leg kick that just misses Nine's sensitive parts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nine tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A good leg kick by Clay.
Clay throws a nice head kick!
Clay misses with an uppercut. Nine saw that one coming.
Nine doesn't manage to clinch there - Clay circles away.

Nine fails in his attempt to clinch.
Nine attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Nine looks for a takedown but Clay sprawls well.
Clay half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Nine wants to clinch up but Clay keeps it at a distance.
Clay chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Nine has his takedown stuffed
and Clay counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Archie Clay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koah Nine.
Clay dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nine. That did some damage!
A nice inside leg kick there by Clay. That's going to slow Nine down.
Nine shoots in looking for a takedown. Clay tries to sprawl out of it but Nine keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Nine takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Clay leaves Nine with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Clay feinted with a counter takedown.
Clay lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Clay misses with a hook. Nine ducked under it nicely.
Nine shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Nine chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Clay can pounce on him.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Clay.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nine moves in looking to clinch but Clay pushes him off.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nine is defended easily by Clay.

Clay closes the distance and clinches.
Clay has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Nine after a bit of a struggle.
Clay lands with a short shot to the head.
Clay displaying some good clinch control by pressing Nine up against the cage.

Clay has picked Nine up - he's going for a ride! Clay dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Clay is trying to control. Nine wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Clay looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Clay is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Clay wants to take a breather but Nine is having none of it.
Nine trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Clay manages to pass to mount!
Clay fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Clay in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Clay wants to finish this one by submission but Nine is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Clay.
Clay lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Nine keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Nine on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Clay. Clay obviously looking to wear him down.
Nine's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Clay shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Clay lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Clay perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Clay lands a nice short elbow.
Clay is looking to take a break and control but Nine is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Clay in particular looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nine flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Clay is looking to take a break and control but Nine is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Clay not doing much here.

Clay takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Clay lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Archie Clay overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Clay lands with a punch from half guard.
Nine trying to hold on to Clay's head to control him but Clay postures up.
Clay is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Clay slips a nice elbow through Nine's hands, connecting with Nine's forehead.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Clay lands a nice short elbow.

Clay looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Ground and pound from Clay.
Clay passes to side control.
Clay in side control lands a decent elbow.
Clay has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Nine tries to hold on but Clay pushes him away.

Clay with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Clay can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nine is looking to escape.
Clay landing punches.
Clay is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nine can do to turn this around?

Clay is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nine can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Clay tries to control but Nine wriggling away.

Clay has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Nine's face.
Nine is breathing heavily.
Clay wants to control the pace but Nine is squirming around nicely.

Nine is rocked!
Clay connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Nine is still in real trouble! Can Clay finish him?
Clay pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Clay cracks Nine with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Archie Clay!
