Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damiao Maio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and daniel cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). cook has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Damiao Maio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maio closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Maio trying to control the position but cook is working away.
Maio working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Maio prevents cook from escaping the position.
Maio cracks cook with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Maio is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but cook is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Maio wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by cook, who protects the arm well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Maio is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, cook has escaped the position, nice work there.
cook is trying to buck Maio off.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maio tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Maio scores with a couple of short elbows.
cook is pushing Maio's head away, looking to escape. Maio manages to hold on to the position though.
cook looks gassed!
Maio has hold of cook's arm. He's looking for a kimura. cook seems comfortable defending it but Maio has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! cook is real pain and he's forced to tap out! cook is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Maio couldn't care less - he's delighted!
