Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tigran Minasian (ranked 519 p4p, 84 weight class) and Jao Rua (ranked 317 p4p, 50 weight class). Rua has chosen Tarantula as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Minasian closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rua quickly recovers to half guard.
Minasian seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Rua is trying is best to control the position here.

Rua is staying active underneath Minasian, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rua is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Minasian tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rua knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Rua is looking for a sweep. Minasian is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rua working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Minasian doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Minasian manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round but I would say that Tigran Minasian will probably get the nod.

Minasian feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rua pushes a forearm under Minasian's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Minasian is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
