Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jerry Farrell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jackson Mars!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mars connects with a body shot.
Farrell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mars.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Farrell enables Mars to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Farrell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Farrell has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mars has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Mars has Farrell pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mars pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Farrell tumbling to the mat - Mars dives into Farrell's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mars stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Farrell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mars stands up out of Farrell's guard for a moment - Farrell manages to land a nice upkick.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mars is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Mars tries to clinch but Farrell is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Farrell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Farrell takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Farrell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mars closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Farrell throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Mars feints and as Farrell raises his hands in defense, Mars changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Farrell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mars's guard.


Mars working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Farrell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Farrell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Farrell stands and steps away. Mars gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Farrell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Farrell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
