Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dimitri Gyos (ranked 4691 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Chandler (ranked 4545 p4p, 449 weight class). Gyos comes to the cage accompanied by It's Raining Men. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gyos lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A combination from Chandler does no damage.

Chandler gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Chandler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chandler throws a right hand that Gyos ducks under and follows up with a left that Gyos also avoids with ease.
Gyos is looking for a counter combo.
Gyos shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chandler defends it nicely.
Gyos shoots for a takedown but Chandler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Chandler forces Gyos back against the cage and clinches.
Gyos has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chandler after a bit of a struggle.

As Gyos backs off Chandler throws a huge counter combo but Gyos manages to avoid it all.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Chandler pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gyos looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gyos lands a nice looking kick to the body. Chandler takes a step back to recover.

Chandler shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gyos manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gyos has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Chandler is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chandler lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Chandler .

We've been hearing that Gyos has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Chandler takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Gyos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gyos is looking to take a break and control but Chandler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Chandler regains half guard there - taking advantage of Gyos's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gyos has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Chandler regains guard immediately.

Gyos feints and as Chandler raises his hands in defense, Gyos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
