The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Forte shoots in for a takedown but Jimenez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Forte tries to clinch up but Jimenez circles away and keeps his distance.
Jimenez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Forte misses with a body shot.
Jimenez half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Forte dives in and scores a takedown into Jimenez's guard.
Forte throws a strike but Jimenez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jimenez throws a big elbow that misses.
Jimenez wanted to stand there but Forte had control of the position.

Forte is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jimenez defends well.
Forte controls Jimenez momentarily but Jimenez frees himself.
Jimenez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
