Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between luigi bono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MAX PAIN (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
PAIN fails with an attempt to clinch.

bono tries to land a sweep but no joy.

bono has his foot on PAIN's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. PAIN works his way back into a safe position though.

PAIN seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
PAIN thows a big elbow that misses.
PAIN is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
bono uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from PAIN.
bono has his takedown stuffed

and PAIN counters with a single leg into guard. bono didn't expect that.
bono is trying to keep PAIN in close.
bono is breathing heavily.

bono escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. PAIN gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
PAIN is looking to work some ground and pound but bono has wrist control.

PAIN slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

PAINis looking to pass into half guard but bono pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now bono is in guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

PAIN stays in close to bono's body and controls the position.
PAIN stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. bono swivels though and keeps the full guard.
bono can't keep his opponent in guard - PAIN advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
PAIN thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
PAIN works his way into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
PAIN wants to lay and pray for a moment but bono keeps working.
PAIN lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear bono down.
PAIN lands a few punches from side control.
PAIN tries to move to mount but bono blocks the move with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
PAIN creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Let's hope that PAIN has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

PAIN is going olschool here, as he tries to force bono to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so bono shrugs it off.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
PAIN has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of bono's face.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

PAIN decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
PAIN looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks bono with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

PAIN pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
bono wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
PAIN gets his hands free as bono looks to control.
PAIN has the hooks in. bono is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
PAIN lands an elbow to the side of the head.
PAIN connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for bono to escape the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

PAIN lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
bono grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
bono tries to escape but PAIN has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
PAIN is looking to control bono but bono is wriggling around and keeping busy.
bono wants to escape the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. PAIN controlling the positon.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards PAIN.

MAX PAIN comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well PAIN has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
