PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gene Hartman (ranked 4616 p4p, 0 weight class) and Said Ibrahimov (ranked 14755 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Said Ibrahimov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ibrahimov gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Ibrahimov has closed the distance and engaged Hartman in a clinch.

Hartman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ibrahimov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hartman to the mat. Hartman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Ibrahimov drops back looking for a leg! Hartman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hartman manages to kick Ibrahimov off! Ibrahimov jumps back into Hartman's guard.

Hartman throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ibrahimov uses it to pass to side control.
Hartman wants to control but Ibrahimov postures up.
Hartman is trying to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hartman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ibrahimov wants to sweep here but Hartman controlling him for the moment.
Hartman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ibrahimov is trying to keep Hartman in close.
Hartman working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ibrahimov's head.
Hartman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Ibrahimov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hartman defends well.

Ibrahimov is trying to control the position but Hartman postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hartman working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ibrahimov's head.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hartman is working Ibrahimov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hartman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hartman throws an elbow that misses. Ibrahimov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hartman's guard. Nice move by Ibrahimov!

Hartman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ibrahimov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hartman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ibrahimov chips away with some ground and pound.

Oh Hartman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ibrahimov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hartman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ibrahimov is in close to Hartman's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ibrahimov postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Hartman covers up, he's hurt! Ibrahimov keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Ibrahimov and the ref steps in to end the fight! Ibrahimov can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
