Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sydney Tate (ranked 6159 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muhammed Ali (ranked 4672 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sydney Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Muhammed Ali!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ali drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Tate is looking to regain half guard here but Ali keeps moving and retains side control.
Tate manages to get back to half guard.
Ali throwing shots but Tate is blocking nicely.

Tate looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Ali throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Ali perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
It looks like Ali might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tate is trying to stand up here but Ali is controlling him well.

Tate looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Ali is looking for a kimura but Tate is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ali to get the leverage.
Ali is looking to advance position but Tate won't allow it.
Tate looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ali looks to land a strike but Tate avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Tate looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Ali stands up and waves to Tate to follow him.

Ali fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tate sprawls well initially but Ali persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Ali wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tate keeps working.

Tate looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Tate is trying to get back to full guard.
Ali thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tate's head.

Ali stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Tate to get to his feet.

Ali darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Tate regains full guard. Nicely done.

Ali postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tate is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ali, into his guard.

Tate trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Tate trying to control but Ali is working from the bottom.
Tate postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tate accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ali seems keen to control Tate's posture.
Tate controls from within his opponent's guard.

Ali manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tate's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ali manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tate on his heels. He'll look to pass Tate's guard now, I'm sure.

Tate has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Ali is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Tate is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Ali tries to break free but Tate pushes him back against the cage.

Ali pulls guard effortlessly.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Muhammed Ali will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Ali looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Ali is looking to take a break and control but Tate is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ali decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Ali drives through with a takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tate wants to stand and escape but Ali is having none of it.
Tate tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Ali controls from within his opponent's guard.

Ali avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ali postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ali closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tate quickly recovers to half guard.
Ali is pressing down on Tate's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tate is holding on for now.
Tate is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ali throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ali perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Tate works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tate is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ali is controlling him.
Ali content to stall in guard here.
Ali wants to control from the top but Tate keeps moving.

Ali sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Ali got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tate has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ali has managed to get both his arms back between Tate's legs - danger averted.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Tate has a takedown stuffed.
Ali looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Ali rushes Tate and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ali works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Tate keeping moving, preventing Ali from controlling successfully.

Tate tries to strike from the bottom.
Tate is looking to stand up but Ali isn't so interested in that idea.
Ali sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Tate is trying to keep Ali in close.
Ali trying to control the position from guard on top but Tate is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tate is working an open guard so Ali takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Muhammed Ali showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Tate is looking to clinch.
Tate swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ali cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ali shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ali showed some decent athleticism there.
Ali is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Tate manages to get to full guard.

Tate is trying to hold Ali in close to prevent damage but Ali has managed to pass into half guard.

Ali seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tate does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ali moves nicely into side control.
Tate is pushing Ali's head away, looking to escape. Ali manages to hold on to the position though.

Ali stands up.

Ali lands with a right to the head.

Ali has hold of one of Tate's legs. Tate is fighting the takedown attempt but Ali gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ali stays in close to Tate's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ali gets to his feet - Tate follows without any prompting.

Tate rushes Ali and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ali has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A short body shot lands from Ali as the two fighters clinch.

Tate jumps guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Tate looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ali in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Tate is looking to stand up but Ali isn't so interested in that idea.

Ali gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tate gets caught flat footed, as Ali shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Tate trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Ali is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ali slips nicely into half guard.

Ali is working for a kimura but Tate is defending it quite comfortably.
Ali tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tate knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Ali decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tate is looking to clinch but Ali is avoiding it.
Tate tries to clinch up but Ali circles away and keeps his distance.

Ali pushes Tate up against the cage in a clinch.
Tate tries to pull guard but Ali forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Tate escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ali shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tate manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ali stays in close to Tate's body and controls the position.
Tate can't keep his opponent in guard - Ali advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Muhammed Ali comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ali has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
