Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bol Bol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Hickson!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hickson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hickson lands in his opponent's guard.
Hickson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bol's guard.
Hickson stalling.
Bol is looking to escape.
Bol knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hickson on the ground.
Hickson is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hickson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bol with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bol manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Hickson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Bol is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hickson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bol to the mat. Bol regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hickson stops Bol from standing up.
Hickson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hickson passes Bol's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hickson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
It looks like Hickson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Hickson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Hickson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Bol is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
