Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Enzo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akoshi Mitsauma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akoshi Mitsauma has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Enzo Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Akoshi Mitsauma!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Souza scores with a nice strike.
Mitsauma misses with a looping right.
Souza scores with a one two! Mitsauma had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Souza misses with a head kick.
Mitsauma tries a head kick but it misses.
Mitsauma fails with the takedown.
A solid body kick from Mitsauma.
Souza is breathing heavily.
Mitsauma shoots in looking for a takedown. Souza tries to sprawl out of it but Mitsauma keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Souza manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mitsauma fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Enzo Souza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akoshi Mitsauma.

A left and a right from Souza both land. Nice combination.
Souza misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mitsauma moves in looking to clinch but Souza pushes him off.

Mitsauma shoots in for a double leg but Souza sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Enzo Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Mitsauma counters with a big head kick but Souza shrugs it off.
Mitsauma throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mitsauma scores with a kick to the midsection.
Mitsauma tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Souza swivels and escapes.
Mitsauma lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Souza circles away quickly and effectively.
Souza stuffs the takedown attempt from Mitsauma. Mitsauma gets slowly back to his feet.

Mitsauma moves in looking to clinch but Souza pushes him off.

Souza lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mitsauma backs up against the cage.

and Mitsauma counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Souza's guard now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Souza wants to stand up but Mitsauma is controlling him.
Souza tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Souza is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mitsauma is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Souza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mitsauma on the ground.

Souza has one foot on Mitsauma's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

and Mitsauma counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mitsauma.
Souza is looking to stand up but Mitsauma isn't so interested in that idea.

Souza manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mitsauma looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mitsauma throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Mitsauma misses with a takedown attempt - Souza sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mitsauma jumps into guard, dragging Souza to the mat.

Souza slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Mitsauma wants to stand and escape but Souza is having none of it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nice takedown defense from Souza. No joy for Mitsauma on that attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mitsauma has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mitsauma there as he acknowledges the shot.
A decent looking cross lands there for Souza.

Souza wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Mitsauma tries to pull guard but Souza won't allow it.
Enzo Souza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akoshi Mitsauma.

Souza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Souza avoids the head kick by Mitsauma.
Mitsauma will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Souza tries to bum rush Mitsauma with a series of wild strikes but Mitsauma uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Souza throws a right and a left that Mitsauma avoids nicely.

Akoshi Mitsauma showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Souza scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mitsauma in his tracks.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mitsauma looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mitsauma accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mitsauma is standing up over Souza. Souza looks to escape but Mitsauma dives into side control.
Souza is looking to reverse the position.
Mitsauma is looking to take a break and control but Souza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mitsauma is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Souza swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mitsauma.
Souza misses with a looping left.
Souza misses with a double jab.
Mitsauma keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mitsauma bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Souza's head backwards.
Horrible takedown by Mitsauma or perhaps it was just good defense by Souza which made him look bad.
Souza lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mitsauma on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Mitsauma feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Souza looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mitsauma puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Mitsauma stops Souza from getting back to his feet.
Mitsauma is thwarting Souza's attempts to control the position.
Souza tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Mitsauma has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Mitsauma has control of Souza's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Souza regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Akoshi Mitsauma has got the better of the ground game so far.
Souza tries to improve his position but instead Mitsauma has taken his back!
Enzo Souza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mitsauma is trying to stick to Souza's back but Souza is turning into Mitsauma. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Mitsauma's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Souza.
Souza is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mitsauma tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Souza is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mitsauma is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mitsauma has escaped and now he's on top!
Akoshi Mitsauma is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Akoshi Mitsauma comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mitsauma has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
