Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hanzo Hattori (ranked 4460 p4p, 409 weight class) and Jerry Maldono (ranked 24755 p4p, 539 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerry Maldono!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hattori circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hattori misses with a takedown attempt - Maldono sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Maldono feints a counter leg kick.
Hattori dives in and scores a takedown into Maldono's guard.
Maldono is trying to control the position but Hattori postures up.
Maldono really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hattori. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hattori is looking to work some ground and pound but Maldono has wrist control.
Hattori is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Maldono looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hattori is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hattori is thwarting Maldono's attempts to control the position.
Hattori has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hattori is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Maldono is just riding it out for now. Hattori eventually gives up the hold.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maldono can do anything to dispel that myth.

Maldono is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hattori working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Maldono looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Hattori! Submission of the night perhaps?
