Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christian Martuello (ranked 5045 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marko Marin (ranked 4647 p4p, 0 weight class). Christian Martuello could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Marko Marin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martuello shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marin as he jumps to the side.

Marin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Martuello to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Marin wants to stand up but Martuello is controlling him.
Marin trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marin is trying to control the position but Martuello postures up.
Martuello trying to control the position from guard on top but Marin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Martuello knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marin on the ground.

Marin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Martuello gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Marin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Martuello manages to get himself to full guard.

Marin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Martuello seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Marin passes Martuello's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Marin stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marin stalks Martuello and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Martuello's face. Martuello staggers backwards, shaken.
Martuello tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Marin counters with a takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Marin throws a strike aimed at the side of Martuello's head but Martuello avoids it well.
Marin advances to full mount.
Martuello is bucking up trying to escape but Marin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Marin wants to control the pace but Martuello is squirming around nicely.

Marin is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Marin extends the arm and Martuello is forced to tap!
