The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Waid changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Halidjic looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Waid misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
You can see the frustration on Halidjic's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Halidjic tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Waid wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Waid has hold of Halidjic's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Halidjic tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Waid cranks the arm and Halidjic screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Halidjic, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
