Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Drake (ranked 23692 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick McKinney (ranked 3093 p4p, 334 weight class). McKinney has chosen Johnny B. Goode as his entrance music. Derrick McKinney will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKinney tries to clinch but Drake moves out of range.
McKinney scores with a jab to the jaw.
Drake stuffs the takedown.
Drake fires out a quick counter leg kick but McKinney just manages to avoid it.
McKinney darts in trying to clinch
and Drake counters with a shoot takedown. McKinney fights it but they end up in guard.
Drake avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Drake could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Drake is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Drake lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Drake gets to his feet - McKinney follows without any prompting.

McKinney throws a predictable looking body shot
and Drake counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nice sprawl there from Drake as McKinney shoots in.
It looked like Drake wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A punch lands to the side of Drake 's head but he takes it in his stride.
McKinney fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jon Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derrick McKinney.
Drake instigates a clinch.
Drake has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but McKinney regains guard immediately.

Drake keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McKinney's head.
McKinney looking to hit a scissor sweep but Drake is one step ahead there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Drake keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McKinney's head.
Drake has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McKinney is proving hard to escape from.
Drake postures up.

McKinney looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Drake stands up and waves to McKinney to follow him.
McKinney thuds his right hand into Drake's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Drake rushes McKinney and presses him up against the cage.
Drake manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
McKinney has Drake pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Drake manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Drake works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Drake cracks McKinney with a solid left hand.
Drake gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Drake scores with a body shot.
McKinney tries to clinch up.
Drake lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by McKinney or perhaps it was just good defense by Drake, which made it look bad.
A counter left hand to the body from Drake misses its target.
McKinney misses with a takedown
and Drake counters with a stiff right hand.
McKinney is rocked!
McKinney looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McKinney blocks a head kick by Drake.
McKinney throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Drake counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Drake.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Drake dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
McKinney scores with a nice body kick.
McKinney is still on wobbly legs! Can Drake finish him?
Drake tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Drake is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McKinney can do to turn this around?
Drake pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Drake lands a jab to McKinney's midsection.
Drake pushes McKinney up against the cage in a clinch.
Drake has hold of one of McKinney's legs. McKinney is fighting the takedown attempt but Drake gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
McKinney is looking to stand back up but Drake counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by McKinney.
Drake maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! McKinney could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Drake has cracked it and McKinney is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Drake!
