The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Letter lands a nice hook to Ventura's body. Ventura takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
A big left from Letter misses.
A swing and a miss from Letter.
Letter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Letter throws a series of punches but Ventura moves out of range.
Ventura has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ventura there as he acknowledges the shot.
Ventura moves out of range of the leg kick from Letter.
Ventura takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ventura closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Ventura ducks under a wild hook from Letter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ventura fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Letter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ventura drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Letter dives on top into guard.
Letter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Letter passes Ventura's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Letter slows the pace down in half guard.

This one could be over very soon! Letter goes limp - he's gone! Ventura jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
